- Members of Friends of the Boundary Mountains view TransCanada’s massive roadbuilding that now scars majestic Kibby Mt. and poses severe impacts on the threatened Canada lynx that roam this terrain hunting snowshoe hare.

FRIENDS OF THE BOUNDARY MOUNTAINS was founded more than a decade ago to fight a destructive industrial wind power proposal by Kenetech Corp. That project failed, and for some time the mountains had enjoyed a period of safety. Now they are being trashed by TransCanada Corporation, a multi-national polluter with an insatiable thirst for U.S. taxpayer subsidies and a well-crafted green washing campaign to cloak its environmental destruction in the guise of alternative energy.
FRIENDS OF THE BOUNDARY MOUNTAINS is dedicated to protecting the natural qualities of the mountains, and in preserving the region for its traditional uses of timber management, outdoor recreation and wildlife habitat. Large industrial development does not belong here!!
We hope you will want to join us. You can help by becoming a member (individual: $20; family: $30) and further support this work by sending an additional contribution (tax deductible).
Funds are urgently needed to assist with the legal cost of resisting TransCanada’s efforts to get Maine’s Land Use Regulation Commission (LURC) to re-zone the mountains for development. The Boundary Mountains represent one of the last remaining remote, wild and unspoiled areas in the otherwise heavily developed Northeast. LET’S KEEP THEM THAT WAY !!
Friends of the Boundary Mountains is a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization. Contributions are tax-deductible.Please make checks payable to “Friends of the Boundary Mountains”
